Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, which is used to stop the so-called e-mail spoofing where an email message can be sent from one e-mail, but to appear as being sent from a different, usually with the idea to fraud the recipient someway. When SPF protection is activated for a domain name, a specific record is generated for it in the Domain Name System and all the DNS servers globally get it. The record includes all the e-mail servers that are allowed to send authentic messages from an email address part of the domain. When an email is sent, the very first DNS server it encounters verifies the SPF record and when its sending server is authorized, the message is sent to the targeted receiver. In case, however, the sending server is not included in the SPF record for the given domain, the message will not be forwarded and it'll be discarded. In the event that you use this service, it'll prevent third parties from sending spam messages that appear to have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Shared Website Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for any domain hosted in a shared website hosting account on our cloud hosting platform with no more than a few clicks. The option is accessible in the Emails section of our revolutionary Hepsia Control Panel and what is needed to activate it is to select one of your domains from a drop-down list and enter the hostnames as well as the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the mail servers which will be certified to send email messages from your emails. As an additional option you can also restrict the email messages to be sent from your domain only if it includes our MX records, in other words if our servers manage the emails for it, not some third-party provider. This option provides you with the top standard of safety, but it's not applicable when only your site is on our servers while your emails for the domain name are handled in another place. Regardless, the SPF protection service will keep your email addresses risk-free from being used for spam and scam purposes.
